What it does

Adds 2 to 3 word captions in white with a soft shadow and no box, never mixing two sentences or leaving the safe margin. Optionally, the word being spoken turns orange. You also get the .srt file.

What you tell Claude

  • «Add captions to my video»
  • «Captions with the active word highlighted»
  • «Make me an srt»

What you need

  • Claude Code
  • ffmpeg (no libass needed)
  • Python 3.9 or newer with Pillow
  • Whisper (mlx-whisper on Apple Silicon or openai-whisper)

How long it takes

about 35 s per minute of video on Apple Silicon

How to install it

In Claude Code

  1. Download the .skill file. It is a zip with the skill folder inside.
  2. Unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ (or into .claude/skills/ inside your project).
  3. Open Claude Code and ask in your own words. The skill kicks in on its own.

In claude.ai

  1. Go to Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
  2. Upload the .skill file as you downloaded it.
  3. Turn it on and ask Claude in any chat.

In ChatGPT it helps you plan; it does not edit.
